“Stay on the path.”

What it is

On the path of living your values and aspirations, you are guaranteed to meet obstacles. At times you may lack clarity about what to do, feel disappointed with lack of progress, lose motivation, procrastinate, get distracted, give in to temptation, and tell yourself excuses. You may also be held back by fear, doubts, bad habits, perfectionism, or self-sabotage.

The discipline of overcoming is about reconnecting to your aspirations in the moment, then applying the right technique to overcome the challenge you are facing. It is continuously releasing your conditioning and operating as your new self.

Why it matters

Every time you overcome an obstacle, you get a +1 in your life; you are moving a step forward and gaining momentum. Without this discipline, the gravity of the status quo (your conditioning) will constantly pull you back.

How to get started

Identify the biggest obstacle you are facing in the pursuit of your goals. Then choose one or two techniques from this article, and apply them daily for 30 days.
