What it is

To plan is to set a clear intention and design a specific path forward toward your goals. It is being purposeful about how you use your time, your energy, and your environment. You do that by setting up empowering structures such as:

  • morning and evening routines
  • day plan, weekly plan, and yearly plan
  • effective task management system
  • goal milestones and transition rituals
  • environment design, minimalism, decluttering

Why it matters

Planning allows you to optimize your life around your priorities. With it, you feel more organized, effective, and in control. Without it, you often gravitate to things that are less important, be distracted, and feel frustrated and overwhelmed.

How to get started

These structures are implemented step by step. The best place to start is to create a morning routine that is offline, structured, and focused. Make sure to include a day plan practice as part of your morning routine.
